WHAT WE DO

Each two hour session includes an hour of tuition on guitar, bass guitar, drums or vocals, with a maximum of five students per tutor which is taught in separate instrument rooms. We accept all abilities from beginners who want to learn, to advanced students wanting to play in a band. In their lesson they will not only learn their instrument, but a new song every two weeks. In the other hour, they all gather in the main room to put into practice what they have learned, and students will jam together and play the songs as a band. This is quite a social hour where students will make new friends and listen to each other play. We also run a music quiz every week and our younger junior students will play some music games.

Over the year, students will build up a set list of songs to perform in our summer gigs and every July we host our big end of year gig, which is at The Fleece in Bristol, a fantastic experience!

We have a great team of tutors who are all young professionals currently gigging and inspiring all our students. All members of the team have a current enhanced DBS certificate.

Fees

After your free taster session, fees are £24 per two-hour session and this is paid monthly via direct debit. The monthly fee is £78 per month which equates to £24 per session but spreads the cost out over 12 months, taking school holidays into account. Once you have had your free taster session, you will be emailed with a link to set up your direct debit. You may leave at any time providing you give us 7 days notice and any overpayments will be refunded. All sessions must be paid for once registered as you are holding a space.

Behaviour Policy: Taster session

Please note that our session involves group music tuition of up to 5 students in small rooms, and these lessons are an hour long. We will feedback to you after your trial session if we believe your child is not quite ready for our environment. Concentration in group tuition can be hard for some younger children which is one of the reasons we advise around age 7 for new students, but older children can struggle with this too. Please talk to your child beforehand that they must be able to:

  • Concentrate in lessons when required (we of course have some breaks)

  • Be quiet and listen when asked to by a team member

  • Behave and not become a distraction to other students

We don’t want the above to sound too strict as we also have a lot of fun at our sessions and it can get quite lively when playing games and other activities! But we like to make parents aware of what we expect when it comes to the music tuition. Thank you.
