Gloucestershire Franchisee
Andy Collins
Andy opened his first franchise of The Rock Project in October 2011 down in North Somerset after leaving the RAF as an aircraft engineer, and has now been running the Gloucestershire schools since 2019. Andy lives in Portishead, is married with two young children and says: “I love what we do at The Rock Project, we have taught over a thousand students now over the years, and to watch their confidence and ability grow to be able to perform live on stage within their first year is a great achievement for both them and my team. If you are wondering if our sessions are for you, just come along for a free taster, meet the team and see for yourself!"
Gloucestershire Sessions Manager
Alex Penfold
Alex is a full time professional musician, teaching and performing all around Gloucestershire. He graduated with a BA (Hons) degree in Professional Musicianship from BIMM in Bristol and spent the vast majority of his evenings performing in residencies and functions with a number of bands ranging from Hip Hop, Soul, Funk, Rock and a few others. He then decided to spend more time teaching, which he has been doing since the age of 15 and always gained such a rewarding sense of purpose from it. Alex has been teaching guitar with The Rock Project since April 2017 and took on the role of the session manager in June 2018.
Alex says "I look forward to meeting students, parents, and hopefully inspiring young musicians to gain purpose, discipline, and passion for the subject I love.”
