Session Timetable:
1st Hour:
Instrumental lesson
2nd Hour:
Singing
Musicmaster Quiz
Plug & Play
At The Rock Project we offer lessons in Guitar, Bass Guitar or Drums. Students have lessons in the instrument of their choice in a small group of no more than four or five. These lessons last for one hour.
The second hour consists of singing, the music master quiz and Plug & Play. During this session, students mix with students from other instrumental groups. This session places equal importance on group performance work as well as solo performance work and also encourages teamwork.
Musicmaster quiz is not just about Rock and Pop. Students learn about all genres of music as well as the theory and history of music whilst having fun.
The Plug & Play sessions give the students a chance to put into practice what they have learned in their instrumental lessons. Even though we encourage as many of them to take part as possible we would not force anyone to do something they are not comfortable with.
At other venues we have seen many children who were shy and reserved when they first started at The Rock Project, turn into confident, proficient performers who have gone on to play as part of a band or as solo acts and in one case record their own CD.
One of our main aims is to encourage as many students as possible to form bands. Playing in a band develops essential life skills such as cooperation, negotiation, compromise and teamwork, as well as verbal and non verbal communication.
The Rock Project School of Rock & Pop is held in a positive, encouraging environment where hard work, enthusiasm and high standards produce excellent results.
All tutors have had an enhanced police disclosure and are dedicated to creating friendly, caring and inspiring classes where each student can flourish and make new friends with fellow would-be musicians.
